HDMI issue

Currently I use 2 monitors connected to my PC. I recented added my TV via a HDMI cable to watch movies on a larger screen. Video is fine but I have no audio to the TV. What's the problem?

Hum...where to start.

Check your drivers
Make sure your device's drivers are up to date. You can check for updates through Windows Update, Samsung Update, or the device manufacturer's website. You can also check with the graphics card manufacturer for audio drivers for the HDMI port.

Check your audio settings
On your PC, open the Control Panel, click Sound, and then click the Playback tab. Select the output device connected to the HDMI cable, and then click Set Default.

Check your HDMI cable
Try disconnecting and reconnecting the HDMI cable from your PC and TV. Make sure the connections are secure. You can also try using a different HDMI cable.

Check your TV's input
Try connecting your computer to a different HDMI port on your TV, and then change the TV input to match the port used.

Drivers showed no updates available by windows update. However I downloaded a program that showed 15 driver updates available. I downloaded & installed of them. Made no difference.

Checked the audio settings and there is NO "Playback" option.

Disconnected & reconnected cable. No difference. Don't have another 25 foot cable. I have the same issue with my laptop to TV. Changed the cable at that time and still had the same issue....

I'm not sure. I picked up a 25 ft HDMI cable years ago for streaming from my laptop to the TV in various Motels on the Oregon Coast because Cable TV quality was horrible. I never had an issue...except when the TV didn't have a HDMI port.

Finally gave up & ran a cable from my PC's audio output to my stereo's input...
